Great Lakes at Palo Alto Airport

“The thing you need to remember about the Great Lakes is that the brakes are for run-ups only.  Never forget that.  If it looks like you’re going off the end of the runway let it go into the dirt.  The fuel in the top wing gives it a very high center of mass.  Hit the brakes hard and it’ll roll over on its back.  Probably half the Great Lakes have been on their backs at one point or another.”
