Eternally Stanford
In spite of resent construction the Stanford Mausoleum still occupies a secluded area of the campus. The final resting place of Leland Stanford, Jane Stanford and Leland Stanford Jr. As a boy my friends and I would ride our bikes to this location and we imagined it to be haunted. Trust me, after dark it truly is spooky. I used to entertain the fantasy of beginning my own tradition inspired by the Poe Toaster. But it remained a fantasy. Even as an adult I’m afraid to visit alone and in the dark.
